We are Karen and Wallace Wolff. Our German shepherd dog kennel, Zwinger vom Roten Wald, is located in the East Bay Area of the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. In 1998, we imported our first breeding female from Germany, Halla vom Stieglerhof. She began our breeding program of excellent dogs for show, schutzhund and family pets. Our goal has always been to breed the best dogs and breed according to the World Standard of German Shepherds. Germany holds the rules for the standard through their national club, Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde We take great measure to breed to improve the quality of the breed; looking at pedigree, health, conformation, temperament workability and hip and elbow ratings.
Our location in the East Bay Area provides many opportunities to train our dogs and to present the dogs in “trials” and “shows”. Menlo Park Schutzhund Club, Outlaws Working Dog Club, South County Schutzhund Club, Alameda County Schutzhund Club, Peninsula Canine Corps, Bay Area Schutzhund Club, Monterey Bay Schutzhund Club, Placer County Schutzhund Club and San Jose German Shepherd Dog Club are the clubs within an hour and half .
We enjoy titling our own puppies and dogs that we have purchased. We have earned 19 BH’s, 5 SchH 1, 2SchH 2 and one SchH 3 and two IPO 1, one IGP2 and a few Tracking and Obedience titles. Our most exciting title was the protection Award at NASS with Faro vom Zeltweg.
